Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand Sanctuary will launch Sanctuary Women’s Footwear in Spring 2020. The company excitedly introduces its first foray into footwear with nearly 100 styles for the spring and summer season.
Inspired by a saying shared between co-founder Debra Polanco and her daughters, “If it makes you dance, then buy them,” each style has been named after a specific type of dance step.
Sanctuary joined forces with licensing company Highline United, LLC., to bring the category to life.
“It has been such a joy collaborating with the Highline United team on something I am so passionate about—the joy of shoes. The collaboration on this collection comes from the best of both worlds. The shoes represent Sanctuary’s modern, yet timeless style with approachable prices to match our core DNA. We’re all already lining up.”
“While expanding the Sanctuary lifestyle categories, we are on the search for “passionate partners,” added Sanctuary co-founder Ken Polanco. “We hit a homerun with the team at Highline United. Together, we have built a partnership made for success.”
Highline United, LLC President of Sales and Design Christine Fuchs shared, “We are thrilled to partner with Ken and Debra Polanco and their team. From the start of the collaboration process, we felt a shared passion and energy towards the Sanctuary aesthetic and brand values. We are excited to bring our footwear collaboration to life this Spring.”
“The inspiration behind this Spring/Summer collection is one of versatility and wearability,” stated Highline United, LLC VP of Product & Design. “The styles are elevated and modern, but tie back to the heritage of Sanctuary apparel. As part of the Sanctuary approach to Smart Creation, we have also engineered sustainable components that will be used throughout our footwear collections.”
The versatile silhouettes of Sanctuary Women’s Footwear span sandals, slides, wedges, kitten heels, mocs, and booties, embodying a modern, yet timeless approach. Maintaining a commitment to sustainability, the Upcycled Jogger sneaker boasts an outsole made of recycled coffee grinds and corn starch.
The collection had its first preview at FFANY in June to give buyers a sneak peek at the assortment. “Our team at Highline United was so energized from all the positive feedback we received from retailers. Not only did the buyers love the styling, they felt the quality was superior and the pricing a value,” said Highline United, LLC VP of Sales Ellie DePaul.
Prices range from $99-$249 and configurations include shoes, booties, and tall shaft boots comprised of premium leather uppers, breathable leather socks and linings, comfort foam padding, and novelty prints, and fabrics.
