New commercial real estate professionals gathered at The Rollins at Essex Crossing for the REBNY Access Program’s kickoff cocktail party. Hosted by Taconic Investment Partners and sponsored by Delancey Street Associates, the evening introduced real estate newcomers to the recurring program along with REBNY and the benefits of membership, which include access to prominent industry leaders, discussions on emerging trends, and opportunities to learn about new development projects.
Past Most Promising Commercial Real Estate Salesperson “Rookie” of the Year Award winners–Evan Fiddle of CBRE, Hayley Shoener of JLL, and Randy Modell of ABS Partners Real Estate–shared about their experiences and the importance of getting involved in REBNY to excel in the commercial real estate industry.
REBNY President John Banks discussed the NYC real estate community’s opposition to an illegal Commercial Rent Control bill that severely limits the rights of property owners and would harm 100,000 co-op households who rely on retail tenants to offset building maintenance costs. Local Business Improvement Districts have now also joined the fight against Intro. 737, which will be reviewed in a hearing by the City Council’s Committee on Small Business this Monday, October 22nd.
Isaac Henderson of L&M Development Partners shared about the inception and development of the Essex Crossing project, which is a collection of over 1,000 new residences, 400,000 square feet of office space and 450,000 square feet of retail spaces over nine sites that will enhance the culture and unique flavor of New York City’s Lower East Side.
