MetaProp, the PropTech Venture Capital Fund (along with partners NYCEDC, REBNY, Comcast machineQ, Colonial, First Republic Bank, Fox Rothschild, Zillow and Cushman & Wakefield), hosted their fourth annual Demo Day at WeWork’s flagship location at Times Square.
The East Coast Accelerator Demo Day in New York City celebrates the culmination of MetaProp NYC’s 22-week growth program and provides graduating startup founders with new corporate relationships for pilots and investment, additional Angel/VC interest and media exposure.
More than 100 of the industry’s top minds gathered to hear about the latest technologies, new partnerships and funding, early details about the 2019/2020 accelerator class, the announcement of the 2018-2019 MetaProp Accelerator Mentor of the Year and to network with the top minds in global PropTech.
The startups that presented were a diverse mix of founders who are looking to solve big problems in interesting and challenging areas of PropTech, including smart cities, residential brokerage, tenant advocacy and sustainability. The five companies that presented were: Avvir, Reasi, Furnishr, Jabbrrbox, and Aegis AI.
In addition to the startup presentations, co-Founder and Managing Partner of MetaProp Aaron Block hosted a fireside chat with Craig Robinson and Veresh Sita of WeWork. Craig Robinson is the Global Head of Powered By We Services at The We Company with over 20 years of experience leading commercial real estate service businesses. Viresh Sita is a Senior Vice President at WeWork, responsible for the overall go-to market strategy and commercialization of Powered by We. They spoke about the current venture capital landscape and what the Creator Fund at WeWork is hoping to accomplish.
