Retail leasing veteran and university lecturer Meghann Martindale has joined CBRE as global head of retail research, succeeding Melina Cordero, who was promoted to managing director of retail capital markets in July. She will report to Richard Barkham, CBRE’s global chief economist and head of Americas research.
“Meghann will infuse CBRE’s retail research with a rare combination of academic insight and firsthand retail leasing experience,” Barkham said. “Her experience is a significant asset for continuing CBRE’s analysis of the retail sector, which is in the midst of significant transformation.”
Martindale is returning to CBRE, where she worked as a leasing and sales associate in San Francisco from 2001 to 2006. She has also served in leasing roles with Simon Property Group, Related Urban and Terranomics Retail Services, on projects totaling more than 15 million square feet of retail, mixed-use, restaurant, entertainment and food hall space. In addition, she has served as a guest lecturer on retail real estate trends and development at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, and as an adjunct professor of real estate development at NYU.
