Draught 55, the bar and kitchen that has been operating at 245 East 55th Street since 2012, has signed a 20-year, triple-net lease to open a second location at 987 Second Avenue.
“The fact that Draught 55 has been operating successfully in the neighborhood for seven years, allowing them to develop a deep knowledge of the market, made them a very attractive tenant to ownership,” said Winick Realty group director Michael Shkreli, who represented landlord Rocky Lee Corp. The family behind Rocky Lee previously ran a restaurant in the build before relocating to Las Vegas. The previous tenant was Turtle Bay.
Draught 55 is set to open in the three-story building, formerly home to Turtle Bay, in mid-2020. The restaurant will occupy 7,750 square feet, including 2,250 square feet on the ground floor, second floor and basement, as well as a 1,000-square-foot mezzanine. The second floor, which features double-height ceilings, will be utilized for catering and private events.
Draught 55 was represented by independent broker William Zorzy.
