As part of an overall reinvigoration of the iconic Chrysler Building, RFR and Signa Group are creating new energized food, wellness and personal service experiences throughout the 77-story building, including a full-floor amenity space for tenants.
“The Chrysler Building is one of the world’s most iconic buildings and it’s time that it be reenergized and improved with new amenities, services and the functionality of a new building – being beautiful is not enough,” said Aby Rosen, co-founder and principal of RFR. “Working with our partner Signa Group, we are focusing our combined vision and experience with top-quality investments to attract quality tenants and create opportunities that take advantage of the strong location and established international brand.”
In addition, mechanical systems, elevators, windows, bathrooms and common corridors are being upgraded at the building, which was constructed in 1930. New prebuilt suites with design standards created by Gensler are under construction.
The in-house RFR leasing team has signed 65,035 square feet of renewals and new deals since RFR and SIGNA took over the ownership of the building in April 2019. Among the most recent transactions, long-time tenant Creative Artists Agency signed a 25,029-square-foot lease expansion for an entire full floor. The talent and sports agency is currently the building’s largest tenant, with a total footprint of 123,781 square feet over five full floors.
