Lee & Associates NYC Scores Space for My Gym on the Upper West Side

Tannor and Watson arrange 3,262-square-foot lease at 207 West 79th Street for the children’s fitness center

Gregory Tannor, executive managing director/principal; and Michael Watson, associate director; of Lee & Associates NYC have negotiated a ground-floor, 3,262-square-foot lease at 207 West 79th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, for My Gym. The children’s fitness brand offers early physical education and pre-gymnastics classes as well as birthday parties for children ages six weeks to 10 years. Boasting state-of-the-art facilities, My Gym aims to enhance children’s development through games, music, exercise, sports, gymnastics, puppets and unique rides.

This new My Gym location will be the second one on the Upper West Side and the fourth in Manhattan. In total, the rapidly expanding brand has more than 550 locations in more than 30 countries.

“The Upper West Side is filled with families, meaning that businesses offering children’s activities have traditionally done quite well in the neighborhood,” explained Gregoory Tannor, who represented the tenant, along with Michael Watson. “This new location is also very centrally located with an abundance of surrounding retail options that will appeal to both children and parents alike.”

209 West 79th Street is conveniently located less than a block from the 1 and 2 trains at the 79th Street station and approximately two blocks from the C and B trains at the 81st Street-Museum of Natural History station. There are also numerous bus lines nearby. Surrounding retailers and restaurants include Zabar’s, Amorino, Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) and Sarabeth’s.

The property owner, Anbau Enterprises, Inc., was represented by Barry Fishbach, David Abrams and Brandon Miller of RKF, a Newmark Knight Frank company. My Gym is expected to take occupancy on November 1. The lease term is 10 years and the asking rent was $150 per square foot.
