More than 425 supporters celebrated the 20th Annual Spring Luncheon on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Cipriani 42nd Street. Hosted by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), the Luncheon raised more than $520,000. All proceeds from the Luncheon benefit FARE, a national nonprofit organization with the mission of improving the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and providing them hope through the promise of new treatments.

Sarah Kugelman and Jamie Malkin were honored for their leadership and advocacy on behalf of children with life-threatening food allergies. Luca Padovan, TV Actor and Broadway Performer, who is personally affected by food allergies, was the MC. This year’s Spring Luncheon featured “The Future of Food,” an on-stage chat moderated by Rob Reid, best-selling author and host of the podcast, “After On.” The discussion, featuring Hitesh Hajarnavis, Richard Insel, MD, and Ruslan Medzhitov, highlighted innovation in food allergy research, consumer demand and the latest science.

The Luncheon featured the debut of FARE’s latest video in support of the Contains: Courage campaign, a five-year fundraising and awareness campaign supporting families living with food allergies and educating all communities about the disease. As announced by Kim Hartman, co-chair of FARE’s Board of Governors, $53 million has been committed toward the Contains: Courage campaign in support of FARE’s life-changing research, education and advocacy initiatives.

Julie Ader, Liana Silverstein Backal, Laura Tisch Broumand, Talia Day, Helen Jaffe, Roslyn Jaffe, Nicole Lenner, Lianne Mandelbaum, Amie Rappoport McKenna, Melissa Rosenbloom, and Stacey Saiontz were this year’s co-chairs. Antoinette Griffith, Jennifer Hoine, Stephanie Leichter, and Anna Yaeger were the vice chairs.
