Douglas Elliman Real Estate has announced that Michael Chapman, a top-producing broker with more than 20 years of experience, along with team member, Amanda Miller, have joined the firm.
Chapman has consistently been a top producer throughout his career, with $89 million in sales in 2018 alone. Highlights from 2018 include the $61 million sellout of prime SoHo development, 63 Greene Street, including the $10.5 million penthouse sale, and $28 million in contracts signed at 211 Schermerhorn in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Chapman is considered one of the top residential brokers working in New York City, most recently with Stribling, where he was a member of its Chairman’s Circle. He specializes in consulting, marketing and sales of both ground-up construction and residential conversion projects.
“Michael has established himself as a results-oriented and high-achieving professional over the past two decades, with a proven track record across different neighborhoods and property types,” said Steven James, president and CEO of New York City. “His ability to work effectively with developers, sellers and buyers is a unique talent, and we are thrilled to be welcoming him. We know that he will be successful in serving our clients at the highest level.”
During his time at Stribling, which was acquired by Compass in April of 2019, Chapman successfully marketed 17 new development projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn, while also staying active in the re-sale market, representing the seller of the penthouse unit at 147 Waverly Place in Greenwich Village, among other high-profile sales.
“I’m excited to start this new phase of my career with Douglas Elliman and to take on new challenges and responsibilities,” said Chapman. “I’ve always admired Elliman’s dedication to their customers and agents, and how the firm has adapted to new technologies and grown its reach into exciting new markets. I’m confident that my work ethic and Elliman’s excellent resources will combine to produce incredible results.”
Chapman and Miller will be working out of Elliman’s 575 Madison Avenue location in Manhattan.
