Last week, Delivering Good brought our community of donors and community partners together to honor three powerful, inspirational women. Our 13th Annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon, held on Wednesday, June 12 at The Pierre Hotel, was an afternoon of inspiration, positivity, and hope. The luncheon was attended by over 400 guests and raised more than $450,000.
The inspiring afternoon began with remarks from keynote speaker Jennifer Dulski, bestselling author of “Purposeful: Are You a Manager or A Movement Starter?”. Dulski spoke about the ways that individuals and companies can make a difference within their communities by creating movements and inspiring others to give back. Our next guest, Jinji Nicole, captivated the entire room with her graciousness and compelling story. Watch Delivering Good’s new mission video, featuring Jinji Nicole’s moving story, below:
Delivering Good was then pleased to honor our three Women of Inspiration, beginning with Edyth Bush and her continuing legacy in Central Florida. The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has been a long-standing partner of Delivering Good and both organizations have aided in poverty and disaster recovery efforts within the Central Florida area. David Odahowski, President of the Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
Following an emotional introduction by her daughter, Delivering Good welcomed our second honoree, Lece Lohr, President of Justice, who talked about empowering girls through the brand’s “Girls with Heart” ambassador program. Lohr brought along three amazing young women from the program who wowed everyone in the room with their outstanding accomplishments in entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
Finally, Delivering Good honored Maria Montaño, President and CEO of Gerber Childrenswear. Being not only the first female but also the first Latina to run the organization, Montaño has truly been an inspiration to everyone she meets. We are thankful for Maria’s inspiring story and Gerber Childrenswear’s continuous support of Delivering Good. Through our partnership, Gerber has donated over $25 million worth of new baby and toddler clothing.
Co-chairs Carole Postal and Karen Bromley closed out the afternoon thanking our honorees, guest speakers, attendees and supporters. As this was Bromley’s final Luncheon as co-chair, Postal, along with Delivering Good’s Board of Directors and Staff, surprised her with a special gift and an honor roll in her name. Another successful Luncheon in the books!
