Moliving is the world’s first nomadic hotel concept, making mobile hospitality a reality with its new luxury, prefab units that can pop up anytime and anywhere. Being at the forefront of eco-responsibility, the Moliving Units are designed with sustainability, durability, modularity and luxury in mind and can be relocated without leaving a trace behind. Moliving recently revealed its first model unit at the future site of what will be its flagship hotel located in New York’s Hudson Valley, set to open in spring 2022.

“The traditional hotel development model has proven its success for generations. Now, lifestyle habits and travel behaviors have greatly shifted. We are spearheading the change with our mobile units and proprietary technology to continue to adapt,” said Jordan Bem, founder and CEO of Moliving. “Moliving is accommodating by design, its flexibility feeds the desire to roam freely, helping the industry to embrace the nomadic, adventure seeking traveler of today who still wants all the benefits of the traditional five-star accommodation.”

By focusing on seasonal and traditionally hard to develop markets, Moliving offers future hoteliers and landowners the opportunity to build hotels in months versus years at a fraction of the cost of a traditional hotel. With mobility in mind, Moliving can predict seasonal demand and adjust room inventory to match demand in real time. Moliving is the first hotel group that can efficiently achieve and maintain peak occupancy and ADRs on a year-round basis.

Moliving units are built offsite by modular fabricators in controlled facilities that are selected in a manner to ensure efficiency, predictability and dependability. SG Blocks, an innovative designer and modular fabricator, has been contracted to produce 60 units for Moliving’s first hotel at Hurley House. It’s responsible for creating products that exceed many standard building code requirements while remaining efficient and environmentally friendly. SG Blocks also has a notable client base that includes Marriott, Aman, Equinox and more.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Moliving in the execution of its mobile, luxury eco-resorts, as we feel its mission aligns with ours in terms of the future of not only the hospitality industry but the overarching housing market as well,” Paul Galvin, chairman and CEO of SG Blocks, noted. “These agile, adaptable solutions really are the future, and we’re pleased to provide just that. We are very impressed by Moliving’s product and look forward to collaborating on more units to come.”

Moliving units are 45 feet long and offer approximately 400 square feet of personal indoor space as well as two generously sized, 120-square-foot outdoor decks located at both the front and back of each unit. They may be custom designed based on the chosen locale through the use of innovating paneling systems. Each unit is outfitted with wood-clad interiors complemented by soothing earth tones to blend in with each new destination. Floor-to-ceiling transom windows throughout the unit and an oversized skylight in the spa-inspired bathroom allow guests to soak in the views. The open floor plan cleverly offers distinct living, sleeping and working areas. The bed is built so that it can easily be converted to either a king bed or two twin beds.

All units will come fully equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including a Samsung 55-inch Smart TV, a Devialet Wireless Speaker, USB ports, in-room safe, private bar, electronically controlled shades and Wi-Fi.

Built on custom designed chassis, Moliving units can be set as standalone or grouped together to form a multilevel establishment. Each Moliving unit can be fully self-sufficient, with the ability to be set in an “off the grid” setting or connected to the host property in a matter of minutes. The units use the latest lithium battery technology to store energy harvested from rooftop solar panels, gray water recycling technology enabling a reduction in water consumption, UV sanitization technology, hands-free controls for all electronics and a seamless tablet control integration. Moliving is also in the process of creating a mobile application that will provide an interface for all unit guests to handle all front of house and back of house lodging functions, from check in to requests for additional pillows.

Moliving offers landowners and hoteliers the opportunity to build hotels in months versus years at a fraction of the cost of a traditional hotel. With mobility in mind, Moliving’s mission is to democratize the hotel industry and allow landowners to invest in their property as a hospitality destination in a more efficient and scalable manner. With Moliving’s units, there is a significantly reduced risk of over-budget and/or delayed projects.
