Associate real estate broker Christa Chi of Elegran, an independently-owned, technology-driven residential real estate brokerage, was awarded StreetEasy’s prestigious New Yorkers’ Choice award at its second annual Essys Awards ceremony.
The Essys Awards honor NYC’s best real estate agents for the tireless work and countless hours they devote to helping people find homes in New York. By analyzing StreetEasy data and reviewing first-person testimonials, winners are determined by the quality and consistency of their work. Out of hundreds of applicants and nominees, Ms. Chi was one of six elite agents to take home an Essys award this year.
“As a brokerage with a distinct focus on technology and commitment to providing consumers with the best service possible, Elegran’s decision to partner with StreetEasy was an easy one,” said Michael Rossi, CEO of Elegran. “StreetEasy’s unmatched market reach paired with our in-depth knowledge of NYC residential real estate enables agents like Ms. Chi to go above-and-beyond for their clients.”
A “founded in NYC, for NYC” company, Elegran is one of the best-reviewed firms on Zillow and often partners with StreetEasy to test new initiatives in the New York City market. After participating in Elegran’s extensive agent training program, Chi was one of the first agents to utilize StreetEasy’s Premier Agent platform. She quickly became one of Elegran’s top agents, with a total of $50 million in sales volume over the past three and a half years.
Chi began her real estate career at Elegran in 2016 after seven years working in financial services for Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and Bridgewater Associates. Her joy in building relationships, love for helping others, real estate investment knowledge and creativity made residential real estate the perfect transition. Chi’s resourcefulness and unparalleled service were recognized by her client, Anjlee Joshi, who nominated Chi for the award after closing on a one-bedroom apartment with a home office on the Upper West Side.
“Christa’s in-depth understanding of not only the local real estate market but interest rates, financing and property valuation, helped me secure both a mortgage and appraisal contingency,” said Joshi in her nomination. “With the $35,000 she saved me on the contract sale price, I was able to renovate the apartment immediately after closing. With an incredible eye for design, she also helped me re-envision the space. What would typically require a team of experts when it comes to purchasing and renovating an apartment, Christa provides all in one package.”
“The New Yorkers’ Choice category was the most coveted, with well over a hundred submissions sent in from locals who took the time to share what made their real estate agent the best of the best,” said Lisa Holden, senior manager of industry communications at StreetEasy. “Each Essys finalist had outstanding submissions but ultimately Christa’s unique experience combined with her proven dedication to her clients earned her the win.”
