Katz Architecture has promoted Project Architect Ivan Silva, AIA to associate, façade compliance specialist. Silva received his Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) certification in October of 2023, broadening the firm’s exterior services and technical expertise. With the firm’s focus on the intersection of architectural and technical design, Silva will continue supporting Katz Architecture’s expanding portfolio in exterior envelope work, preservation and restoration, while spearheading its growing façade division.

Silva’s QEWI license increases the firm’s capacity to cooperate with processes related to New York City’s Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP), from inspection and FISP report filing through construction and remediation.
Prior to joining Katz Architecture in 2017, Silva worked on large-scale construction projects for New York City’s School Construction Authority. With an inherent interest in the technical aspects of building development and design, his later pursuit of an architectural career presented a natural transition given his prior industry experience.
