State Bill Could Boost Funding for Affordable Housing

California, like New York, is jam-packed with people ready to live out their dreams, and it’s also equally as expensive. But with a new bill trying its way through the state legislature, California could see more influx in affordable housing near public transit. The bill also works to help fund stations, local parks, and pedestrian projects.

The bill has already cleared two legislative committees without any opposition. Drafted by Senator Ben Allen, the bill ensures 40 percent of funding for low-income housing with half targeting developments for the homeless.
