Real Estate Developers JK Equities collaborated with Chicago-based artist Jason Watts to paint a mural alongside children and their parents on the soon-to-be-demolished building at 1400 West Monroe in the West Loop. Incorporating drawings from local young artists, the event, which was held on June 22, attracted more than 100 participants throughout the day, raising $800 that will be donated to Skinner West Elementary School.

The newly-finished mural will stand until November when the building is set to be demolished to make way for JK Equities’ newest project 1400 West Monroe, the 42-unit luxury condominium. The family-friendly, seven-story boutique development is a welcomed change from the mostly apartment-filled community. With the launch comes the opening of the sales gallery at 33 N. Morgan Street, with sales and marketing being handled by ON Collaborative by Coldwell Banker. Pricing will start from the low $600,000s and range up to $1.4 million.
