Flagler Steakhouse is a Palm Beach classic with contemporary appeal
Located at the Ocean Golf and Tennis Clubhouse at The Breaker Palm Beach, just across the road from the resort’s picturesque Main Drive, Flagler Steakhouse is a vibrant take on the classic American chophouse.
After many years of being the island’s best-kept secret, a modern rendition of this classic steakhouse reemerged in late 2013 with the vibe of a timeless social club, while broadening its excellent culinary reputation for sensational steak and more.
Flagler Steakhouse is a refreshing interpretation of the traditional, masculine spirit with a twist of Palm Beach prep, putting a contemporary, lighthearted spin on Palm Beach’s clubby legacy — a celebration of a time-honored tradition. Its air of exclusivity cleverly plays on its location, yet the restaurant remains open to the public with convenient access right off of South County Road. The members-only feeling is evident upon arrival, as guests driving up are warmly greeted by the on-site valet.
After introducing its successful lounge concept, HMF, the resort re-enlisted the celebrated designer Adam D. Tihany to re-imagine the traditional steakhouse as a youthful retreat with an irresistible spirit. As with his multiple collaborations with The Breakers, he acted as a design consultant to Peacock + Lewis Architects and fashioned dynamic interiors that blend old school luxury and contemporary comforts.
Located on the second floor of the Clubhouse, Flagler Steakhouse also features outdoor terrace seating that is fully climate-controlled so that guests can enjoy ocean breezes and panoramic views of the golf course below. Inside, just off the main room, a private dining room hosts up to 18 guests in a secluded setting.
In addition to a variety of signature meat cuts such as New York strip, bone-in filet mignon and rib-eye steak, the extensive yet diverse menu includes shellfish and fin-fish, Italian favorites, classic broiler items, great appetizers, salads and savory sides.
A unique bar program features hand-crafted cocktails as well as tantalizing creations by a team of drink experts. Favorites include The New Yorker and the St. Petersburg Mule. The Breakers’ master sommeliers Virginia Philip and Juan Gomez curated the extensive wine list in tandem with Flagler Steakhouse head sommelier Cassandra Felix. Sourced from The Breakers 50,000-bottle collection, the wine selections perfectly complement the multi-faceted menu to ensure that every guest — whether an oenophile or merely looking for a great pairing — is completely satisfied.
And now, The Breakers Palm Beach has announced the latest addition to its dining collection: Henry’s Palm Beach, debuting in early 2020. Located in the heart of Palm Beach on Royal Poinciana Way, the restaurant will open at Via Flagler by The Breakers, an alfresco plaza that will feature a curated collection of boutiques, eateries and residences.
Named after the resort’s founder, Henry Morrison Flagler, Henry’s Palm Beach will showcase elevated comfort food with a hint of nostalgia. The open menu of familiar American favorites will encourage guests to share and inspire frequent visits. Anticipated to be a coveted neighborhood gathering spot for dining and drinks, the restaurant will open daily for lunch, social hour, dinner, late-night cocktails and weekend brunch.
