BHI Names Wadler First Vice President, Commercial Real Estate

BHI, a full-service commercial bank, announced that it has appointed Michael Wadler as first vice president, commercial real estate. Wadler, a veteran banker whose career spans more than three decades, will be based in BHI’s Florida Representative Office in Miami.

“Michael is a highly respected banker, experienced in all aspects of commercial real estate financing, with an extensive network of relationships in the South Florida market.  He will be an invaluable addition to our national real estate team and we look forward to him advancing BHI’s goal of increasing our presence in Florida and the Southeast with our construction, bridge, and permanent loan products,” said Doug Rutley, senior vice president, BHI head of commercial real estate.

Wadler joins BHI from HSBC Bank USA, where he served 16 years, most recently as vice president in the commercial real estate finance group.  At HSBC, Wadler was relationship manager for Southeast real estate clients and was responsible for construction, bridge and permanent financing encompassing all asset types including multi-family, office and retail.

Previously, he was a vice president in the commercial real estate group of Comerica Bank.  He also held the position of executive director and head of real estate loan syndications at CIBC World Markets, where he was responsible for the syndication of all CIBC agented real estate transactions and executive director, structured debt finance group at Union Bank of Switzerland.  He began his career as a senior investment analyst at New York Life Insurance Company.

Wadler earned his MBA from Rutgers Graduate School of Management and Bachelor’s degree from New York University Stern School of Business.
