With a plan to expand its multifamily presence in the New York tri-state area, Newmark has hired multifamily expert Gene Pride to serve as executive managing director. Pride will align with Newmark Capital Markets professionals Kevin Welsh and Brian Schulz, while partnering with regional Newmark teams to bolster the firm’s multifamily presence and connectivity in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
“Newmark’s multifamily platform has been growing tremendously across the entire country,” said Blake Okland, vice chairman, head of U.S. multifamily investment sales. “The addition of Gene to the tri-state region will further boost the synergy between our existing multifamily teams along the Eastern seaboard, creating a more robust network of experts to best serve the needs of our clients.”
Pride began his multifamily investment career in 1998. Since 2014, he has been involved in selling over 19,000 apartment units valued in excess of $5.1 billion and worked on land sales marked for the development of more than 2,700 apartments.
