WiredScore, the digital certification helping landlords assess and improve their buildings, has raised US $15 million in Series B funding, led by Beringea with key participation from notable strategic and venture fund investors including Cushman & Wakefield, Crow Holdings and Taronga Ventures, in addition to core returning investors Fifth Wall, Bessemer Venture Partners and Jona Capital. This round brings WiredScore’s total funds raised to date to $28 million. Capital from this round will be aimed at further accelerating growth.
WiredScore partners with 900 of the world’s renowned real estate leaders, including Hines, Related, Nuveen, Greystar, SLGreen, Tishman Speyer as well as PGIM, certifying their premier assets’ digital infrastructure and smart building tech for a competitive advantage in attracting tenants, while ensuring their occupants piece of mind with access to the best-in-class connectivity and smart features.
“The future will happen in buildings, with the most pressing challenges of our time—widespread access to great connectivity, carbon reduction, health and wellness, cyber security—being addressed through in-building technology. This future is not achievable without empowering the individuals responsible for buildings to implement tech in such a way that it will have a lasting impact,” said Arie Barendrecht, WiredScore CEO and founder. “The building standards we provide serve as the North Star for the real estate industry. We are confident that these strategic partnerships and infusion of capital will propel us to further empower the built world and those who occupy it, enabling us to reach our goal for one billion people to live and work in connected, smart buildings over the next decade.”
The news follows a year of aggressive expansion for WiredScore, both domestically and internationally. Most notably, the company entered into the multifamily market in June 2021 with the launch of WiredScore Home in North America, helping residential developers and owners improve and bring greater transparency to connectivity in their buildings.
In addition, the company has expanded into 13 new countries, boosting its presence across Northern and Central Eastern Europe as well as debuting in APAC with the opening of its Singapore office. Most recently, WiredScore launched its Accredited Professionals Program within North America and the UK with companies including CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, Lendlease as well as Savills. The program, which equips individuals with the skills needed to best advise their clients on delivering profound, world-class connectivity and smart tech, currently boasts in excess of 650 professionals from over 275 companies.
Over the next 24 months, WiredScore plans to expand its geographic footprint across North America and APAC.
