A lower East Side culinary staple for more than 80 years, Kossar’s opened its second-ever location in West Chelsea at Douglaston Development’s Ohm in West Chelsea. The 1,200-square-foot ground-floor retail space is located at 312 11th Ave. The original Lower East Side storefront opened in 1936.
Located just steps away from New York City’s new tech sector in Hudson Yards, Kossar’s space was previously home to Via Trenta Pizzoteca and joins a wine purveyor and deli at the Ohm.
Kossar’s signed its 15-year, ground-floor lease at Ohm in June of 2021. Clinton Management, the property management affiliate of Douglaston Development, represented the landlord in the transaction. Peter Braus, managing principal and co-founder of Lee & Associates NYC, negotiated the deal on behalf of the tenant.
