Academy Sports + Outdoors’ first South Florida location is coming to the Shoppes at St. Lucie West in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The sporting goods retailer has signed a 15-year-lease for a new 63,000-square-foot store to be opened in the fourth quarter of this year.
Katz & Associates Principals Jon Cashion and Daniel Solomon, CCIM, represented the landlord, Hampshire Companies and Redfearn Capital, and Strategic Retail Advisors’ Brandon Nocella and Mercedes Loftus represented the tenant. Academy Sports + Outdoors will join Publix, Five Below and Bealls (all represented by Cashion and Solomon in the leases), as well as Burlington, LA Fitness and more.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors chose this location for their new store because the St. Lucie trade area is one of the fastest growing markets in the country,” Cashion and Solomon said. “A significant number of people are moving to Port St. Lucie and many retailers are expanding in the area, so this will be a wonderful fit and opportunity.”
