On October 30 at 11 a.m., RXR will break ground on 89 Dekalb Ave., a new 324-unit, all-electric residential development in Downtown Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Fort Greene and Downtown Brooklyn, and designed by Perkins Eastman, the new development will feature 98 rent-stabilized units for middle-income households, 15,000 square feet of amenity space, and electric vehicle charging in the residential parking facility.
The project will also deliver 55,000 square feet of academic and office space for Long Island University (LIU), unlocking highly valued education space within Brooklyn’s growing community. RXR will provide three levels of the residential tower, equipped with separate entrances and lobbies, for LIU to expand its educational resources. RXR previously delivered an athletic field and nearly 18,000 square feet of flex space for LIU at The Willoughby, located around the corner to 89 Dekalb.
