Home furnishings and lifestyle brand RH has opened RH Indianapolis, The Gallery at the DeHaan Estate,  the former home of philanthropist Christel DeHaan at 4501 North Michigan Rd. One of the most accurate Palladian-style villas ever built in the United States, the estate spans 151 acres and over 60 rooms, and represents one of the largest, most inspiring and immersive physical expressions of the brand to date, the company said.

RH Indianapolis integrates luxury home furnishings collections from RH Interiors, Contemporary, Modern and Outdoor with rare art, antiques and artifacts from across the globe. The location also reflects the brand’s continued foray into hospitality with The Dining Room, a dramatic restaurant that opens — along with a Wine Bar and Terrace – onto a 35-acre private lake, formal gardens and forest landscape.

“The DeHaan Estate is one of the most magical properties in North America, and we are honored to open its gates to the public for the first time,” said RH Chairman and CEO Gary Friedman. “From the immaculately groomed grounds and tree lined driveway, to the massive stone terrace and boat dock overlooking the lake and forest, and the perfectly proportioned rooms filled with natural light from the abundance of windows, RH Indianapolis is a place to come and dream, be inspired by the architecture; get lost in the views, enjoy a meal in the grand ballroom or sip a glass of wine while strolling through the gardens.”

Commanding the grand ballroom is The Dining Room restaurant. Aglow in natural light from a wall of soaring windows and fluted pilasters, this space features a 27-foot groin-vaulted ceiling, banquettes of Italian wool velvet and a lighting installation by Los Angeles-based master glass designer, Alison Berger. In the west wing, a luminous Calacatta gold-marble Wine Bar serves Champagnes and wines from around the world for visitors to enjoy in adjacent lounge seating or while exploring the rest of the estate, including limited-production offerings from Napa Valley’s renowned small vintners.

In the east wing, the former billiard room houses the RH Interior Design Studio , an  interactive creative space that clients with professional design services with a private presentation room, state-of-the-art technology and design libraries showcasing a vast assortment of textiles, furniture and lighting finishes.

The Lakeside Terrace adjoins the north side of the main house and features a series of intimate RH Outdoor lounge spaces defined by a layered composition of parasol trees, sculptural evergreens and French limestone fire tables. Here, the central axis that defines the estate opens to radiating steps that gently descend into the lake. The West Gardens feature additional outdoor collections.
