Galvanize Climate Solutions, the climate-focused global investment firm, has appointed Alex Munoz to vice president of asset management for the firm’s sustainable real estate investment strategy. Munoz will be responsible for improving cash flow and increasing value of the real estate investments through capital investment and sustainability initiatives.

Prior to joining Galvanize, Munoz was a principal at GI Partners overseeing Northeast real estate investments in life sciences and data centers, which included redevelopment, asset repositioning, capital deployment and strategic leasing.

Munoz brings over a decade of commercial real estate asset management experience, having worked for global institutional platforms including Goldman Sachs and PGIM Real Estate. He has covered a wide array of property types across various U.S. markets and was responsible for executing business plans across the spectrum including core to value-add and opportunistic investment strategies.

Alex holds a BSBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business where he majored in finance and operations information management as well as a Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment from NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.

“Having worked together previously, I’ve seen first-hand how Alex’s combination of intellectual curiosity, hard work, and humility mitigated risk in the investments which he oversaw,” said Joseph Sumberg, Head of Galvanize Real Estate. “While at Goldman Sachs, Alex was an early adopter of ESG initiatives and proactively implemented sustainability programs within the assets that he managed to create value. I’m ecstatic to have Alex join the Galvanize Real Estate team where he will reunite with many of his former colleagues.”
