“We have an incredible customer base in New York City and we’re excited to expand our community to Flatiron,” said Chef Guy Vaknin. “The space had fantastic bones, and we’ve made it our own with custom murals that keep the modern and artistic feel of the location.”

Elliot Warren of Kaufman Organization represented the landlord, Chelsea Sunshine, LLC. Noam Aziz of Meridian Retail Leasing represented City Roots Hospitality in the transaction.

“Chef Guy Vaknin’s culinary empire extends its reach across New York City, with 37 West 19th Street standing as a prime location in Flatiron,” said Warren, Senior Managing Director at Kaufman. “This new venture promises to enrich the local community with its vibrant Mexican cuisine. We are certain that this expansion, coupled with its innovative concept, will seamlessly integrate into the company’s ongoing success story.”

City Roots Hospitality was founded in 2012 and has since strived to reshare the way people eat and care for their planet. Through innovative plant-based cuisine, the restaurant group is a movement towards a brighter, greener future. City Roots Hospitality’s first establishment, “Beyond Sushi” has flourished with several locations across New York City. In 2012, Chef Guy was in the spotlight as a contestant on Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen Season 10. He also appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2018 where he made one of the largest deals in the history of the show.

Previously home of Tacos Guey, 37 West 19th Street is located within the vibrant Flatiron District neighborhood. Sitting between 5th and 6th Avenues, the property is situated near New York City’s top retail restaurants as well as Union Square and Madison Square Park.
