General contractor Forte Construction Corp. has completed its new headquarters at 1770 Motor Parkway in Islandia, New York.
After 45 years operating out of an 8,000-square-foot facility in Holbrook, New York, Forte, in collaboration with its sister companies Tap Electric and BR Construction, determined it was time to expand its footprint, providing modern facilities for its 300 employees. The company purchased an existing 30,000-square-foot, three-story building on 2.08 acres in 2021.
Over two years, Forte executed substantial upgrades to the space, including a comprehensive gut and remodel of its first two floors, significant structural modifications, and exterior enhancements.
The first floor now boasts a contemporary, spacious reception area adjacent to five offices. The second floor incorporates 15 offices furnished with standing desks, ergonomic chairs, and other state-of-the-art features. Project manager Ryan Scheubel spearheaded the team, including 10 subcontractors, through a complete interior renovation. This resulted in a cutting-edge facility featuring conference rooms with built-in iPads, multiple kitchenettes, environmentally friendly waterless urinals and a revamped elevator. Scheubel’s team also installed precast panels around the building’s columns and enhanced the windows with an aluminum storefront design.
“Our teams lead some of the most vital construction projects across the New York City and Long Island region — everything from new school construction to sustainability efforts combating climate change, to increasing ADA accessibility in Penn Station and throughout the MTA system,” said Vice President Jeffery Cardillo. “A special sense of pride comes from working on the facility that our own company will use daily. Our new facility is refreshed and sharp, and we look forward to all our colleagues experiencing it for themselves.”
Forte Construction will occupy the first two floors of the 300-person-capacity building. Concurrently, Forte intends to maintain ownership of the Holbrook facility for warehousing, logistics, and future expansion purposes.
“Following many successful years in our Holbrook facility, it became clear that our ever-expanding team required more space and a state-of-the-art facility to serve our clients across the New York Metropolitan Area,” said Larry Pappas, president of Forte Construction. “We look forward to officially opening this new facility and beginning a new era for our firm.”
