McCarthy Building Companies Inc. has created a new leadership structure to support the evolution of the firm’s Southern Pacific region, comprised of San Diego, Los Angeles and Newport Beach, California and Las Vegas. Mike Myers has been named CEO, Southern Pacific, Jim Madrid has been named president, Southern Pacific, Paul Erb has been promoted COO, Southern Pacific and Suzy Cruden has been promoted to senior vice president of strategy. All four executives are long-term employees of McCarthy.
“McCarthy is evolving its leadership structure to align with the continued complexities and demands of our operations,” Myers said. “These changes will ensure our partners have the infrastructure and support they need to continue providing best-in-class experiences for our clients.”
Myers, previously Southern Pacific regional president, will now be the lead executive within the region, leading approximately 1,500 partners across four locations in Southern California and Nevada. In his new role, he will be responsible for directing leadership, setting strategy and culture and driving innovative approaches that support sustainable growth and a comprehensive, client-focused approach to business. An industry veteran, Myers has more than two decades of construction experience.
Previously the executive vice president of the company’s Newport Beach office and regional hub, Madrid will oversee McCarthy’s regional operations across Southern California and Nevada. He brings four decades of experience and has worked across all facets of the construction industry in executive, operational, preconstruction and business development roles.
Transitioning from executive vice president and Los Angeles office lead into a broader role, Erb will oversee McCarthy’s design-phase and construction operations in Southern California and Nevada. Erb brings two decades of industry experience.
Expanding her current role as the vice president of marketing and strategy, Cruden will partner with the regional executive team to analyze market trends, identify strategic growth opportunities and ensure the construction company maintains a competitive advantage across the Southern Pacific region. Cruden brings two decades of industry experience having worked in operations for healthcare clients before influencing the business’ approach to design integration, business development, marketing and business strategy.
