Keller Williams New York City KWNYC), a Manhattan-based real estate brokerage firm specializing in residential and commercial sales and rentals, part of the Keller Williams franchise, welcomes back senior seasoned luxury Associate Broker Maria Avellaneda.

In her current role as Senior Global Luxury Specialist at KWNYC she will be handling real estate sales transactions with focus on the ultra-luxury segment and working with foreign investors as well as local high-end buyers and sellers. Avellaneda will also be leading the KW luxury market in the Hamptons.

Avellaneda arrives back at KWNYC with over 15 years of real estate experience and 12 as agent, most recently at Compass, where she was since 2018, targeting affluent clients. She has been consistently ranked among America’s Best Agents and NY’s Best Agents by Real Trends. As an individual agent she has closed more than 100 transactions for approximately $500M, making her one of the most productive individual agents in the industry.

Prior to her work at Compass, she was an agent at Keller Williams NYC, where in 2016 she was a top producer by sales volume, bringing over $2M in GCI. She has earned an excellent reputation with high-end developers and has worked directly with star-architects such as Rafael Vinoly, including a $50M townhouse designed by him. Most importantly, she has an excellent relationship with her fellow agents which has allowed her to find off-market opportunities and procure smooth successful transactions.
In addition, given her experience in finance, management and diplomacy, Avellaneda has an unparalleled understanding of real estate markets, negotiation, and investment processes. Prior to joining Keller Williams she was senior advisor to multi-million-dollar family offices and governments. She worked as a consultant at The Inter-American Development Bank, The World Bank, The United Nations, The U.S. Treasury as well as at other premier financial institutions.

Avellaneda and her family have been investing in New York, Florida, and Latin America for the past 30 years, acquiring prominent properties. This allows her to utilize not only her brokerage experience but also first-hand investment expertise. She is known for executing complex deals, including 1031 exchanges, along with residential, commercial, and equestrian sales. She is diligent, professional, and discrete which has allowed her to work with multi-billion-dollar clients as well as royals from different countries.
Avellaneda is originally from Argentina where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in International Relations. Later, she attended Columbia University, where she obtained a master’s degree focused on International Finance, Economics and Quantitative Analysis. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has working knowledge of French and Portuguese.
Avellaneda is also committed to supporting the community through various organizations and serves as a member of the Latin American Circle at the Guggenheim Museum.

She has received many awards and garnered recognition, including Forbes 30 Promises, Forbes Power Women, Women in Prop-tech, and Top Agents in Social Media. Avellaneda was an invited speaker at the Commercial Observer Women in Real Estate Finance Forum to discuss “Earning a Seat at the Table.” She was also a speaker at the Real Estate Women’s Forum 2020discussing “Protech Revolution: Multifamily & Condo Innovators in Focus.”
