AmTrust RE, has signed a 9,397-square-foot lease with Access Justice Brooklyn at 203 Jay St., an eight-story, 72,000-square-foot mixed-use property at the nexus of DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights. Bert Rosenblatt of Cresa represented the tenant in the transaction, while the landlord was represented by AmTrust’s Anne Holker and the CBRE team of Brad Gerla, Michael Rizzo and Alex Benisatto.

“Our office property at 203 Jay St. was built with modern, high-quality amenities designed to meet the demands of today’s tenants and the lease with Access Justice Brooklyn highlights our ability to continue attracting prominent companies and nonprofits,” said Jonathan Bennett, president of AmTrust RE. “Along with our other recent leasing activity at the property, this is a direct reflection of growing demand for quality office space in the Brooklyn submarket. The organization’s legal advocacy work is of vital importance to the community and we’re proud to add them to our tenant base at 203 Jay.”

Access Justice Brooklyn is a community-focused nonprofit organization that offers free high-quality civil legal services for marginalized communities across Brooklyn. In partnership with mission-driven, pro-bono attorneys and cross industry professionals, Access Justice Brooklyn helps to facilitate equitable access to the legal system.
“Our office relocation to 203 Jay Street not only marks a significant moment in AJB’s lifecycle but further illustrates the pivotal role the organization plays in ensuring a more accessible legal system and equitable Brooklyn,” said Heidi Lee Henderson, president and CEO, Access Justice Brooklyn. “We look forward to welcoming our staff, community members, volunteers, partners, donors and friends to 203 Jay St., an office space designed with intention, representing our shared values: access, change, compassion, fairness, resilience and respect.”

Located in Downtown Brooklyn, 203 Jay St. features state-of-the-art amenities including a gym, roof-top terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows at all corners of the property. When it commences occupancy in December, Access Justice Brooklyn will join a list of notable tenants at the property, including Paycom, Morgan & Morgan, and Life Stance Health. The office building also features access to The Amberly — an adjoining 33-story, 270-unit luxury residential property — which offers its own unique suite of amenities including sweeping panoramic views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skyline.
