After being vacant six years, the old Gasho of Japan space on Saw Mill River Road finally has a new owner. Michael Pasqualini, a well-known entrepreneur with unrivaled experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, has purchased the sprawling 2.8-acre estate and today broke ground on a multi-million-dollar renovation and expansion of the property.
Over one hundred guests, including Town of Mt. Pleasant Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi joined Pasqualini for the groundbreaking ceremony for Le Setai, a chic and modern upscale resort-like event space slated to open Fall 2025. The close to 13,000 square foot venue will boast a breathtaking Grand Ballroom with a dazzling skylight over the dance floor. The floor to ceiling windows and French double doors will open from the Grand Ballroom onto a flagstone terrace which will provide a stunning view of meticulously landscaped gardens featuring natural waterfalls and the original signature Koi Pond. It will also include a glass walking bridge along with a ceremony platform and gazebo. An outdoor Tiki Bar and Cabana will create a resort-like feel where guests can escape to an elevated oasis. The top peak of the old Gasho 16th-century samurai farmhouse will remain intact with a major facelift. The luxurious atmosphere will undoubtedly captivate anyone who enters the grounds.
Pasqualini remarked “It is our goal to transform this local, iconic property into the Tri-State’s top wedding and special events destination. Whether an intimate cocktail reception, corporate event, or the wedding of your dreams, our stellar reputation for cuisine and service will make Le Setai an ideal location life has to offer.”
Le Setai will be the most talked-about special events space of its kind in the Tri-State area and will serve as an economic driver for the region. Once completed, the ultra-modern state-of-the-art venue will boast seating for 255 guests with convenient parking for 100 cars.
Located at 6 Saw Mill River Road, the venue once open will create 50+ jobs. For more information and updates, follow Le Setai on Instagram @lesetainy
