Avdoo & Partners Development recently announced that over 30% of residences at Bergen are in-contract. Designed by Taller Frida Escobedo, with interiors by Workstead, master planning by DXA Studio and landscape design by DXA and Patrick Cullina, Bergen offers 105 condominiums ranging from studios to five bedrooms in the heart of Boerum Hill.
“This is a significant milestone to reach in such a short period of time and a testament to the unique offering of Bergen” said Shlomi Avdoo, CEO and Founder of Avdoo. “Buyers have been compelled by Bergen which is unlike anything else available in New York City – from the design to the abundance of outdoor space and thoughtful amenities focused on community, health, wellness and the arts.”
Since launching sales in May, 33 homes have gone into contract at the building, surpassing the total number of units in contract across all other new developments in Brooklyn combined, according to records. Approximately 70% of the buyers at Bergen currently live in the NY Metro area, while approximately 15% of buyers are purchasing from California. There are also two groups of buyers from Latin America, drawn to the fact that it’s Taller Frida Escobedo’s first ever condominium building.
“We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from both prospective buyers and brokers, who have spoken highly of the unique concept and vision of the project, the architecture, floor plans and the community we’re cultivating at Bergen,” said Brendan Aguayo, Project Partner. “All of our collaborators approached every aspect of the project in a very thoughtful and intentional way and it’s rewarding to see how that is resonating with buyers.”
Prominently situated on a tree-lined street, Bergen complements the neighborhood fabric of Boerum Hill with an angled façade composed of handmade blocks that vary in size and degrees of opacity. The interiors complement Escobedo’s architecture with natural materials, simple geometric forms, and richly layered finishes. Residences boast thoughtfully curated layouts, towering ceilings and double-glazed casement windows, with 75% of homes offering private outdoor space.
The building will feature over 14,500 square feet of interior amenities with unique programming centered around community, health, wellness, and the arts, including a tea room programmed by Kettl, a ceramic studio programmed by BKLYN CLAY, and an art studio programmed by Arts Gowanus. Residents will also have access to 12,000 square feet of exterior amenities, including a lush private garden off of Dean Street and two common rooftop parks designed by DXA Studio and Patrick Cullina.
Select residences currently available for purchase include a $750,000 studio, a $1.25 million one-bedroom home, a $3.5 million three-bedroom home and a $6.5 million penthouse. The building’s penthouse collection offers the most spacious indoor and outdoor floorplans available at Bergen. Set back from the facade to enhance natural light and airflow, the penthouses feature expansive custom kitchens, wet bars and several outdoor living spaces, including private rooftops and temperature-controlled plunge pools in select units.
Avdoo’s in-house team is exclusively handling marketing and sales for the building. Bergen anticipates completion and occupancy in Q1 2025, creating a vibrant residential community in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood.
