Matern Professional Engineering has promoted mechanical engineer Dorian Maness to senior project manager. Currently working in Matern’s education division, Maness has over seven years of project experience in K-12 and higher education mechanical systems design, as well as municipal, healthcare and other commercial project experience.

A certified Green Globes Professional, Maness is well-versed in coordinating engineering disciplines for complex projects and focuses on energy conservation and mechanical advantages that save energy costs while designing for clients’ needs. Maness has designed various heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and conducted energy load calculations, mechanical equipment selections and central energy plant (CEP) design projects.

“Dorian is known for always being up to the challenge of analyzing and designing an efficient and tailored design solution for our clients,” said Ryan Strandquest, Matern Professional Engineering president. “We are proud to promote him, and his expertise in project management and mechanical engineering benefits our clients in Florida.”

Maness has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a specialty in mechanical systems from the University of Central Florida. He is a member of the Central Florida chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association (FEFPA). Maness also mentors new mechanical engineering staff and summer interns at Matern Professional Engineering.
