GFP Real Estate LLC announced six lease transactions totaling 28,987 square feet at the Flatiron District’s 230 Fifth Ave., also known as The New York MarketCenter Building. The 99% leased specialty showroom building is home to more than 140 luxury home fashion accessories companies from across the globe.
GFP Real Estate Principal Jane Gural-Senders and Leasing Director Harvey Richer represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate and the tenants in each of the direct lease transactions. Asking rents at the building are approximately $56 per square foot.
“230 Fifth Avenue continues to be the go-to destination for the home textile and design industry,” said Jane Gural-Senders. “We are thrilled to accommodate the growth of our existing tenants while also welcoming new companies into the fold.”
JS Royal Home USA Inc. signed a five-year lease extension for 5,600 square feet on the 12th floor, including a 1,094-square-foot expansion. Manhattan Kids LLC signed a five-year lease extension for its 5,327-square-foot office and showroom space on the 18th floor. India-based Devgiri Exports LLC signed a seven-year lease extension and expanded its space to 7,600 square feet on the 17th floor, adding 2,081 square feet.
Evergrace Home Inc. signed a five-year lease extension for 3,528 square feet on the second floor. Veritas USA Inc. renewed its four-year lease for 2,644 square feet on the 19th floor. American Textile Company Inc., a Pittsburgh, PA-based bedding manufacturer, signed a new four-year lease for 4,268 square feet on the 15th floor. Alan Bonett of Adams & Co. represented the tenant in this transaction.
Built in 1914 and designed by the architectural firm of Schwartz & Gross, 230 Fifth Ave. is a 20-story, 465,000-square-foot Beaux Arts-style office building located in the heart of the Flatiron District in Midtown South. Acquired by GFP Real Estate in 1958, the building is home to over 140 showrooms featuring a diverse collection of product lines and categories, including home textiles, decorative accessories, home furnishings, architectural products, art and more.
