Tishman Speyer announced a 240,000-square-foot lease extension with global energy leader BP at CME Center, its recently renovated and highly amenitized office campus located in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop district.
BP will maintain the same footprint it currently occupies on the entire seventh through tenth floors of 10, 20 and 30 South Wacker Dr. A customer at CME Center since 2009, the extension will keep bp’s Chicago office at the campus through at least 2032.
“We are pleased to continue our longstanding relationship with BP, a valued customer of CME Center for nearly 16 years,” said Tishman Speyer Managing Director Nooshin Felsenthal. “This important extension is further proof that today’s major corporations are committed to bringing their people together in high-quality environments with exceptional amenities, modern design and convenient locations.”
CME Center consists of two 40-story office towers, at 10 and 30 South Wacker Dr., which are connected by a 10-story center structure. Completed in phases during the 1980s, the 2.3 million-square-foot property holds the distinction of being Chicago’s first all-concrete skyscraper.
Working with Chicago-based architecture practice Kreuck Sexton Partners, Tishman Speyer recently completed an award-winning reimagining of CME Center’s lobby, façade and entrances. A new wavelike glass façade now encircles the property, brightening the towers’ entryways and street-level retail, while embracing the sights of the city. The redesigned lobby forms a flowing, modern boulevard between the two towers, its concourse and the river, connecting every entrance to Wacker Drive. Comfortable seating areas are incorporated throughout the lobby to encourage interaction and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
Tishman Speyer has also significantly expanded CME Center’s amenity offerings. Customers and their guests now have access to ZO Clubhouse, a premium amenity center that features a main lounge, library, bar area, huddle and wellness rooms, a boardroom and a multi-purpose game, and conference room with seating for up to 175 people. For a quieter space to work, relax or collaborate, Tishman Speyer created the ZO Lounge. Customers also have access to CME Center’s 19,500-square-foot, 24-hour fitness facilities.
Tishman Speyer was represented by Ellen May of its in-house leasing team, while bp was represented by Matt Carolan, Andy Strand and Kevin Morgan of JLL.
