Cold plunge and infrared sauna studio SweatHouz (Swthz) has opened at The Metropolitan, Garden Communities’ new luxury mixed-use community located at 92 Millburn Ave., at the nexus of Millburn-Short Hills and Springfield. The boutique wellness brand is enhancing the lifestyle experience for residents of The Metropolitan’s rental apartments and townhomes, while bringing a new health-focused amenity to the neighborhood.
“The Metropolitan was designed to complement and serve the larger community; the addition of a high-quality tenant like SweatHouz advances this goal,” said Michael Gartenberg, director of Garden Commercial, who arranged the lease on behalf of property ownership. “We are thrilled to welcome what is sure to be a popular service.”
Robert Mackowski of Pierson Commercial represented Swthz in the lease transaction.
The studio offers a wellness experience grounded in scientific research by integrating infrared sauna, cold plunge and a vitamin C shower in a luxurious environment. Swthz facilities offer the scientific benefits of Contrast Therapy with the deliberate exposure of hot and cold temperatures to optimize both mental and physical wellbeing. Each session at Swthz is fully customizable.
“When people come to Swthz, they will find a state-of-the-art, private suite just for them, where they can use our modalities to help support their health and wellness goals,” said Rico Macaraeg, owner of the 2,400-square-foot studio. “Our therapies also help to reduce muscle soreness, accelerate recovery and optimize the body’s natural healing – ideal for athletes or those seeking relief after a workout.”
The Metropolitan marks the third New Jersey location for Swthz; Macaraeg is the same franchisee behind the brand’s Garwood studio. The balance of The Metropolitan’s street-level retail component has been leased to Byou Laser Clinic, with an opening date yet to be announced.
Located on the former site of Saks Fifth Avenue, The Metropolitan is fully leased.
