On Friday, July 4, Macy’s will celebrate its 49th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks® celebration live from the Brooklyn Bridge, firing more than 80,000 shells, 30 vibrant colors and awe-inspiring effects, including state-of-the-art projection mapping on the Brooklyn Bridge.
“Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks is a story of joy and celebration we have shared for 49 years,” said Will Coss, Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks executive producer. “We light the sky and create tradition, bringing millions across the country together for shared experience and memory.”
The pyrotechnics will be set to a musical score produced by Academy Award-winner Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and James Poyser. Inspired by the enduring spirit of America, the 25-minute musical score will celebrate shared connection by featuring iconic hits and patriotic selections spanning decades and genres. In addition to lending her talents to the year’s score, Academy Award-winner Ariana DeBose will host this year’s festivities.
Before the fireworks light up the sky, a star-studded line up will take the stage on The Rooftop at Pier 17 live from New York City. Audiences can tune in to see exhilarating performances by Jonas Brothers, Eric Church, Lenny Kravitz, Ava Max, Keke Palmer and Trisha Yearwood in advance of Macy’s pyrotechnic celebration.
For the first time, the East and West towers of the Brooklyn Bridge will serve as a canvas for large-scale projection mapping as part of the Macy’s 4th of July celebration. Millions of live viewers will experience a fully choreographed, architecturally mapped projection experience.
Conceived, designed and produced by Macy’s Studios in collaboration with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, the show will showcase pyrotechnic effects including crackling crown jellyfish, atomic rings, yellow and green sunbursts, strobing lemon cascades, comet fans and more, will paint the night sky, culminating in the signature, fan-favorite moment, the Macy’s Golden Mile.
Fired from four barges positioned between Pier 17 and the Downtown Manhattan Heliport on the lower East River in the Seaport District, pyrotechnics will reach 1,000 feet and fall to the water’s edge creating spectacular visuals and unforgettable moments.
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026.
