Shawmut, Global City Development and Gilu Break Ground on Tech Tower

Shawmut Design and Construction, Global City Development and Gilu Development have broken ground on Tech Tower, a new, 23-story world-class workforce housing development located in Sweetwater, Fla.

The groundbreaking at Tech Tower, at 10921 SW 7th St., marks a major milestone in Sweetwater’s growth, providing a solution to the surge in housing demand. Tech Tower will include 517 high-end apartments along with 28,197 square feet of amenity space and 2,923 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Designed by Arquitectonica, Tech Tower will enhance the neighborhood’s vibrancy while providing high-quality workforce housing options. The building will feature concierge-level services and amenities including a yoga lawn, fitness studios, resident lounge, rooftop pool deck, and club room.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by leaders from Global City Development, Gilu Development and the City of Sweetwater, including Global City principals Adam Adler and Brian Pearl, Senior Vice President of Construction Alec Muñoz, Gilu Development principal Luis Bermudez and Sweetwater Mayor Jose “Pepe” Diaz.
