Pacific City, an open-air, lifestyle shopping, dining and entertainment destination across from the Huntington Beach Pier in Huntington Beach, Calif., announced that The Lighthouse will open in early summer, bringing its celebrated live music, nightlife energy and coastal cuisine to the oceanfront destination.
Located on Pacific City’s upper-level deck, the 4,763-square-foot Lighthouse will feature outdoor seating with sweeping ocean views and a laid-back, yet energetic, beachside atmosphere. Originally founded in Hermosa Beach, Calif., in 1949 as The Lighthouse, the venue later evolved into what became known as The Lighthouse Café. For the Pacific City location, the brand is returning to its original name and roots, reflecting a concept that is less café-focused and more centered on live entertainment, social dining and nightlife.
Best known as a cornerstone of West Coast jazz, the Hermosa Beach original has hosted generations of legendary musicians such as Miles Davis, Chet Baker and many more, while gaining international recognition as a filming location for “La La Land.” The new Pacific City location will carry on that tradition with a regular lineup of live performances, including reggae, rock and cover bands as well as its signature Sunday Jazz Brunch.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Lighthouse to Pacific City and introduce a new audience to the music, energy and history of this legendary venue,” says Josh Royal, partner, The Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse will offer elevated coastal comfort food paired with a full bar program, a popular happy hour, and weekend programming. Designed as both a live music destination and a social gathering place, the venue blends daytime dining with evening entertainment and nightlife.
“Adding The Lighthouse is a natural fit for Pacific City and reinforces our commitment to creating an experience-driven destination centered on entertainment, social connection and a coastal lifestyle,” says Jeff Miyaoka, general manager of Pacific City. “Live music has the power to bring people together, and this iconic venue adds an exciting new layer to our center by bringing entertainment, dining and culture together in a way that truly reflects the spirit of Huntington Beach.”
