Opening glass wall technology provider NanaWall has introduced new folding door solutions with exceptional sound ratings in its NW Acoustical 545 and NW Acoustical 645 systems, part of the brand’s latest product family, Generation 4.
With an extremely thin wood frame profile, NW Acoustical 545 is specifically engineered for interior spaces, such as workplace applications, where acoustical privacy and ease of use are paramount. The glass wall system is the first floor supported, single-species wood framed folding glass wall that achieves sound control up to a unit STC rating of 41, thanks to specialized gasketing and sound-enhanced glass. Available in a selection of standard and specialized wood species, wood framed glass doors are made from solid, sustainably harvested wood, each pre-treated with an eco-friendly, water-based sealer for longevity.
Additionally, NW Acoustical 645 is the first floor-supported, aluminum-framed folding glass wall able to achieve unprecedented sound control up to an impressive unit STC 45. This system combines sleek, acoustically separated aluminum framing and specialized gasketing with sound-enhanced glass to achieve optimal performance across the unit STC range of 32 to 45, while allowing maximum transparency and natural daylight to flood interior spaces.
Benefits of each include:
- Flexible Stacking and Space Management: FourFold and SixFold panel sets accommodate larger openings, with panels stacking to the right, left, or center in inswing, outswing, or open corner configurations.
- ADA-Compliant Flush Sills: The Flush sill options are ADA-compliant with an aluminum floor track insert that provides high-heel protection, with options to install directly over finished flooring for clean transitions between interior spaces.
- Swing Doors for Traffic Management: Swing panels up to 3′ 3″ (1000 mm) can be added to accommodate traffic flow, tested to over 500,000 cycles, with optional higher kickplates for ADA compliance.
- Floor-Supported Technology for Durability: With floor supported systems, the main weight of the unit is carried by the lower stainless steel wheel assembly, which glides on top of the stainless steel floor track. This ensures long-term durability and smooth operation and improves the likelihood of keeping the existing header when remodeling.
