South Korean café brand Twosome Place announced its official entry into the U.S. with plans to open its first location in Alexandria, Virginia. The café will be located at 404 King Street, occupying approximately 2,604 square feet, featuring 78 seats including outdoor seating.
The opening marks the first step in a broader U.S. growth strategy. Since opening its first café in Seoul in 2002, Twosome Place has grown to more than 1,750 locations, building a distinctive café experience around the pairing of specialty coffee and cake, where everyday moments become meaningful experiences.
“Our debut in the Washington region is an important milestone for Twosome Place as we look ahead to future growth in the U.S.,” said Jay (Young Joo) Moon, CEO of Twosome Place Korea. “We’re excited to introduce American consumers to the café culture we’ve built over the past two decades, one centered on quality, hospitality and creating a place where guests can gather over exceptional coffee and cake.”
Located in Alexandria’s Old Town neighborhood, the first U.S. café will offer an assorted menu, featuring Twosome Place’s signature cakes, available both whole and by the slice, including the Strawberry Chocolate Cream Cake, the only trademark-registered cake in Korea, with more than three million units sold annually, along with the bestselling Ice Box Cake, with more than 6 million sold annually.
Alongside classic espresso beverages, Twosome Place will introduce Korean-inspired items developed specifically for the U.S. market, including handcrafted beverages like the Dalgona Cream Top, Black Sesame Latte, Misugaru Frappe — made with toasted multi-grains — and Korean Apple Cinnamon Tea, offering guests familiar formats with distinctive flavors. An all-day menu will feature K-Toast with Bulgogi and egg, K-Chicken Panini and Bibimbowl, making Twosome Place a destination throughout the day. The café is expected to open in mid-October.
Additional U.S. locations are planned as Twosome Place continues its expansion, with two locations set to open soon.
