National Real Estate Advisors, an investment manager developing, operating and managing commercial real estate and infrastructure projects across the United States, announced a planned leadership transition to support the firm’s long-term growth.

In January 2027, Kevin Verdi, currently executive vice president and chief investment officer, will assume the role of president and chief executive officer. Verdi will succeed Jeffrey Kanne, who will retire after more than 25 years leading the firm. Following the transition, Kanne will continue to support National as a special advisor.

Verdi’s tenure predates National itself, beginning with National Electric Benefit Fund Real Estate. National spun out from the NEBF in 2010.

“When we founded National, our vision was to build an investment platform grounded in partnership, integrity, innovation and a long-term commitment to our investors,” Kanne said. “It has been the privilege of a lifetime to work alongside such talented colleagues, trusted investors and valued partners. Kevin has been instrumental in National’s success since day one, and I have complete confidence in his leadership and vision for the firm’s next chapter.”

“National’s success has always been rooted in the strength of our people, the trust of our investors, and the quality of our partnerships,” Verdi said. “Jeff has built an extraordinary organization and set a standard of excellence that will continue to guide us. I am honored to lead National into its next phase of growth and remain committed to advancing our long-term investment strategy while delivering results for our investors.”
