The Hammes organization announced that Patrick Hammes has been named chief executive officer, marking the next step in the firm’s long-term leadership succession planning. His father Jon Hammes, who has served as chairman and CEO, will continue as chairman of Hammes, a vertically integrated real estate solutions platform specializing in healthcare real estate strategy and planning, project management, development, investment and property management.
The CEO change reflects a planned leadership transition that was designed to ensure long-term continuity, stability and growth. As CEO, Patrick Hammes will continue to provide strategic and operational oversight of the firm’s complementary suite of services spanning real estate consulting, development, investment and management, all with a focus on healthcare.
The leadership structure of the firm’s affiliated businesses — Hammes Healthcare, Hammes Realty Services and Hammes Partners — remains unchanged.
Patrick Hammes joined the company in 2012 to support the preparation and launch of the firm’s institutional investment platform, Hammes Partners, for which he and Jon both serve as managing principals and investment committee members. Prior to joining Hammes, Patrick was a member of the Business Services and Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Robert W. Baird & Co. Before Baird, he was an attorney at a large law firm in Dallas and previously worked in the General Counsel’s office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.
“Formalizing Patrick’s role as CEO underscores the confidence we have in his leadership and his strategic acumen,” said Jon Hammes. “This transition is a natural evolution that supports our growth, upholds our fiduciary commitment to investors, and maintains continuity for our clients, tenants and partners.”
