Global software and technology company Essensys has named Daniel Brown as group chief revenue officer. Brown will lead Essensys’ revenue function, connecting sales, revenue operations and marketing for the company as it continues to scale its business globally.
“I am excited to welcome Dan to Essensys. His industry expertise makes him perfectly positioned to continue to drive forward growth, and to support our customers as the flexible office market continues to expand globally,” said Mark Furness, co-founder and CEO at Essensys. “As the office real estate market continues to face changing dynamics around digitalization and flexibility, his background in SaaS and flex forward real estate will be a great asset to our team and our business as we continue to realize our ambitions.”
Brown has over 15 years of extensive experience in recurring revenue and scaling organizations, working with SaaS tech companies and flexible office real estate. Previously, Brown worked for WeWork, where he built, directed and scaled global sales, strategy and operations for the company’s All Access business line. Most recently, he worked for Giraffe360, where he led global sales for the business. He has also previously held positions as head of sales for Livestream (acquired by Vimeo), Director of Sales of Handshake (acquired by Shopify), and Sales Manager at Axial.
“Globally the real estate industry is facing challenges, from occupancy levels impacted by the pandemic, through to the current economic climate. However, there is real opportunity ahead as asset owners and operators are increasingly looking at turning former longer-term lease space into agile and flexible space,” Brown said. “This is where the intersection between technology and the built physical world becomes even more important — impacting time to value and the operational efficiency of running an asset. Essensys provides a game-changing, transformative platform to support landlords and flex workspace operators at this junction, and it is an incredible opportunity to be a part of that.”
Brown joins following a number of appointments to the company’s executive team, including Sarah Harvey as chief financial Officer, Kally Kang-Kersey as chief people officer and James Lowery as U.K. and European CEO.
