The Center for Real Estate Technology & Innovation (CRETI) has added Aaron Ru, principal at RET Ventures, to its Venture Board. Ru brings significant investing experience in real estate technology to the board and will help CRETI continue its goals of driving innovation and leadership in the proptech sector.
At RET Ventures, Ru invests in companies in the real estate technology space and is actively involved at the board level with a number of portfolio companies. This experience aligns well with the objectives of CRETI and positions him as a valuable contributor to the Venture Board’s strategic initiatives, the center said. Prior to joining RET Ventures, Ru was an investor at Naspers Ventures and in various strategy and M&A roles at Pinterest, United Talent Agency and UBS Investment Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
“In today’s tumultuous market, technology has the potential to improve many processes within the real estate industry, and I’m excited to join my peers on this board to improve collaboration within the space,” said Ru. “Operating largely within siloes, proptech innovation has already begun to elevate operations for thousands of professionals; through CRETI and other opportunities for crowdsourced innovation, we can work together to help build an even better future for the industry.”
