The Steinbridge Group, an impact investment firm with an initial focus in real estate, has named Jay Dunn managing director and head of capital markets. In this newly created role, Dunn will oversee equity capital raising, investor relations and debt financing transactions for the company’s projects and funds, and will serve as a member of the investment committee.
“Jay brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and relationships in the real estate capital markets space and is an invaluable asset for the Steinbridge Group,” said Tawan Davis, CEO and Founder of Steinbridge Group. “As Steinbridge continues to grow, Jay will play a pivotal role in attracting key investors that will allow us to pursue transformational projects across the United States.”
Prior to joining Steinbridge, Dunn served as head of equity capital markets for RFR Holding, a global investment platform headquartered in New York and as head of capital markets for Alliance Partners HP, a diversified real estate investment and operating platform located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Dunn began his career in the real estate investment banking and private equity group at Morgan Stanley.
Throughout his nearly two-decade career, Dunn has executed $3.8 billion in real estate principal investment and capital markets transactions as a private equity professional and over $40 billion in M&A and capital advisory transactions as an investment banker. Dunn’s experience includes transactions across the residential, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, and specialty lending sectors.
“The opportunity to bring private capital solutions to bear in tackling one of this country’s most challenging problems, the supply of attainable housing, is incredibly exciting,” Dunn said. “From an investment perspective, single-family rentals and build-to-rent communities in particular have significant demographic and secular tailwinds behind them, and we believe we are still in the early innings of that growth cycle. Steinbridge’s unique strategy of partnering with community institutions and other organizations allows us to activate land in infill locations in markets benefiting from observable domestic migration patterns. It is a real ‘win-win’ opportunity.”
Dunn holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S., with Distinction, in systems engineering from the University of Virginia.
