Continuing its expansion in the Washington, D.C. market, SecureSpace Self Storage announced its newest acquisition at 2710 South Nelson Street in Arlington, Va.
Now rebranded as SecureSpace Arlington, the four-story property offers 49,409 square feet of storage space across 880 units in a dense neighborhood with direct access to the Shirlington urban village. A comprehensive cosmetic and capex overhaul will enhance curb appeal and the customer experience for the 295,000 people and 23,000 new housing units within three miles. This purchase marks SecureSpace’s third operating store in the DC-Baltimore MSA, with a fourth new development opening soon.
“This store is in the Washington DC metro, five miles southwest of Capitol Hill and just off the busy 395 Interstate,” said SecureSpace Managing Director Nathan McElmurry. “The location is excellent, with retail presence in a very dense, walkable community. In total, this marks our 75th operating store, which is a proud milestone for the team.”
The leasing office will be upgraded to SecureSpace’s signature contemporary style and its proprietary high-security platform, managed by the company’s National Security Team, is being installed. It includes AI-enabled cameras and sensors providing an enhanced security and monitoring platform.
The SecureSpace.com contactless rental process, allowing tenants to fully lease a unit online and receive instant access to their units, is up and running. All units are clean and serviced regularly by pest control professionals for tenants’ peace of mind.
