Akira’s new store at the shopping center is part of the Valley Stream property’s ongoing redevelopment. This news comes on the heels of the announcement of Shoprite, Cheesecake Factory, Panda Express, Shake Shack, Sephora and Dave’s Hot Chicken joining the center following the redevelopment. The broader redevelopment will reimagine the former Kohl’s department store and will introduce outward-facing storefronts, inviting green spaces, open-air dining areas and a striking new grand entrance in the northeast wing.
