West Harbor, the $500M development reimagining Southern California’s waterfront destination with unique dining, retail, and entertainment recently announced the addition of six distinctive culinary and beverage concepts, totaling over 10,000 square feet of newly leased space. Among the new additions, Mike Hess Brewing will make its LA debut, unveiling an expanded concept that introduces Mike Hess Distilling. The acclaimed San-Diego-based brewing company will feature a large seaside beer garden offering curated handcrafted flights and introduce signature cocktails along with packaged spirits to enjoy at home.
Expanding the Food Collective, West Harbor’s vibrant food hall that showcases a diverse lineup of culinary talent, are Glass Box, Tacos El Franc, Paraná Empanadas, and LoZio Pizza, each bringing new energy and globally inspired flavors to the 42-acre site. Central Park, the project’s outdoor community-centered gathering space, will welcome Freska Bar.
“These additions reflect our commitment to curating authentic and diverse experiences,” said Eric Johnson, senior project executive for West Harbor. “Each concept tells its own story through signature flavors and character, reinforcing West Harbor as a destination that will resonate with locals and global visitors alike.”
The additions coming to life over the next few months include:
-
Tacos El Franc makes its Los Angeles debut at West Harbor. The acclaimed Tijuana taqueria, recognized by the Michelin Guide and featured on Netflix’s Taco Chronicles, brings handmade tortillas and traditional fillings including adobada, suadero and lengua.
-
Glass Box, a high-concept Asian dining experience enclosed in a striking glass structure, brings its Japanese, Korean, and Chinese flavors to Los Angeles for the first time. Originating in San Diego, the concept features an open kitchen and menu spanning sushi and sashimi to Taiwanese beef noodle soup and tenderloin steak fried rice.
-
Paraná Empanadas, a San Diego favorite, serves authentic Argentine fare inspired by family recipes passed down through generations. Its signature Malbec beef empanada, marinated in Argentinian wine for 24 hours, anchors a menu that balances tradition and regional adaptation.
-
LoZio Pizza, a spinoff of the beloved Redondo Beach-based LoZio Osteria, is helmed by local pizzaiolo Marco Aromatario. The concept highlights traditional Italian and modern pies crafted using proprietary sauces and locally sourced ingredients.
-
Freska Bar adds a refreshing and colorful touch with fruit-forward selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic agua-frescas, lively michelaguas, alongside comfort food favorites such as bacon-wrapped hot dogs and wings
These six concepts join a unique slate of previously announced tenants at West Harbor, including the famous San Pedro Fish Market; the first satellite location of Hollywood icon Yamashiro; Hopscotch, a playful and creative art experience featuring immersive installations; and The Baked Bear, the beloved handcrafted ice cream sandwich shop known for its original, made-to-order crations, among others.
Spanning 42 acres with one mile of direct waterfront access, West Harbor will feature a welcoming mix of entertainment, nightlife, and recreation for all ages — including a boutique amusement park anchored by a California’s tallest observation wheel at 175-feet, a 6,200-seat amphitheater developed in partnership with Nederlander Concerts, pickleball and padel courts, tall ship sails, a members-only dog park, and year-round programming.
Scheduled to open in 2026, West Harbor will debut ahead of the LA 2028 Summer Olympics, offering a prime waterfront vantage point for viewing the sailing events hosted in San Pedro and the Port of Los Angeles.
