Sentry AI, a provider of AI-powered physical security and remote guarding, announced growing success helping multifamily communities and homeowners’ associations (HOAs) prevent and address a broad range of security problems through flexible remote guarding.
Unlike traditional central-station monitoring, which typically responds to predefined alarms with prescribed procedures, Sentry AI combines AI agents with trained remote guards who assess situations and use judgment to determine the appropriate response. Sentry works with a community’s existing cameras and security infrastructure, allowing HOAs to add intelligent guarding without a costly rip-and-replace.
Sentry’s approach combines remote guarding with practical security measures, including hardening USPS-supplied mailbox locks with MailGuard, a proprietary, patent-pending additional coded lock. Depending on the property, Sentry solutions also address a range of community-specific security concerns, including illegal dumping, vehicle burglaries and suspicious activity in parking lots, bicycle theft from lockers, unauthorized after-hours pool use, trespassing and unauthorized access, and drug-related activity.
“Our customers don’t all have the same security problems, so they shouldn’t have to accept the same security response,” said Uday Kiran Chaka, CEO of Sentry AI. “Our AI agents help our remote guards understand what is happening, while our guards use judgment to determine what action is appropriate. That is fundamentally different from simply responding to an alarm according to a predetermined script.”
Sentry’s model also allows security priorities to evolve. If mail theft is solved and vehicle burglaries become the primary concern, guarding can be redirected accordingly, and new cameras, sensors, access-control devices and other infrastructure can be incorporated as a community’s needs change.
