MetaProp Hosts East Coast Accelerator Demo Day

MetaProp, along with Presenting Partner 31 Ventures by Mitsui Fudosan and Host Partner Convene, held the 2019/2020 Demo Day on February 5, 2020, at Convene’s location at 117 West 46th Street. MetaProp’s Demo Day is the culmination of months of intense growth focus for its accelerator class and is a rare chance for members of the public to see and hear from the latest crop of high potential PropTech startups. This year’s NYC program featured presentations by the five MetaProp accelerator startups, a brief Mentor of the Year announcement, a State of the Union: Future of PropTech presentation by MetaProp’s General Partner Zach Aarons, and networking drinks.

MetaProp’s Accelerator at Columbia University is a 22-week boot camp that connects PropTech startups from around the world to award-winning investors, venture capital and industry mentors and diverse real estate, technology, and institutional partners. The exclusive accelerator program features executive speakers, real estate education, mentor office hours, presentation workshops, property tours, and international events in cooperation with industry behemoths Blackstone, Brookfield and WeWork, as well as successful later stage PropTech startups VTS, CompStak, Nestio, and Reonomy. Each startup also qualifies for up to $250,000 in financing from MetaProp.

More than 350 of the industry’s top minds, including the MetaProp NYC 2018/2019 accelerator class CEO/Founders, VCs, program mentors, corporate partners, real estate industry executives, media, government officials and others gathered to hear about the latest technologies. MetaProp’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Aaron Block, greeted the crowd by explaining the success of MetaProp’s accelerator’s “big hairy goal of bringing the various community stakeholders together and cementing NYC’s place as the center for global PropTech.”

As Block stated further, each of the five startups experienced over 400% growth over the short 22-week program, which received 250 applications from six continents this year. In addition, this year’s class is special in its own way: With five female founders and co-founders and six ethnicities represented, the 7th cohort is MetaProp’s most diverse accelerator class yet.
